The Inside Yoke

They woke up one morning
And looked all around.
No manual,
No instructions,
Not even a sound.

They woke up one morning
And wondered why?
Why is this?
Why is that?
Why even am I?

They woke up one morning
And started to “do”
Doing, doing, doing,
Doing, doing, doing,
Doing just to “do”.

They looked all around
At what others were doing
Doing, doing, doing,
Brighter, better, faster,
But still just doing.

Then they came upon
One who did naught.
He turned to them and said,
“You do much too much.
You must go deep inside,
Listen, obey and learn,
Follow the promptings within.”
And of such things he taught.

They wrote down his words.
They copied his stance.
They even mimicked his posture.
But listen to promptings?
Not a chance!

They came upon followers
Of one who did “ought”.
Who boasted of “ought”.
Who ridiculed “naught”.
And eventually they all fought!

While they fought,
Not a one was taught.
No one heard the promptings.
No one followed their way.
And no one found what was sought.

You see…

They had written their own manuals.
They wrote what they could see.
They cannonized their how’s
Their what’s, their when’s, their why’s.
And never could just “be”…

But the instructions already existed!
Its in the language of spirit.
Anyone can read it.
Anyone can learn it.
We just need to stop and hear it ….
