MAPS

I used a map of Old Milwaukee
To try and navigate Salt Lake City.
It didn’t work that good.
I thought I had understood!

Patterns are patterns, all’s the same
Each city is just hung in a frame.
But the mountains showed up as water,
And nothing was where I sought for.

I tried to find the Grand Hotel
And ended up at a drive-in, oh well…
What I thought were the lake’s docks
Were actually a pile of rocks!

When navigating in another town
Down is up and up is down!
Right is left and left is right,
Which makes it all just out of sight!

I used a map of my own feelings
To try and understand your dealings.
It didn’t work that good.
I thought I had understood!

Patterns are patterns, all’s the same
Each person is just hung in a frame.
But your mad wasn’t driven by anger.
It was just a symptom of hunger?

My quiet is a sign of content
But to you, it is how you vent?
Silence and lack of sound
Is actually how you frown?

Judging a person with others’ values
Is like using the wrong map in travel.
There’s no sense to it,
So just don’t do it!
