Got a job that was too far

Had health insurance, but the quote
Covered nothing doctors wrote!

Worked all day, sitting in place
Had my job, but lost my waist!

Went to the gym, on my break
Just to come back to doughnuts and cake!

Took a day off, cuz I was tired
But phones and beepers kept me wired!

Got a rodent as a pet
Who refused the wheel, so took to the Vet
The Vet told me, with a straight face
He’s too smart for your Rat Race!

Finely old enough to retire
My health and wealth prognosis dire!
Round and round the Rat Race we go!
Would Rats run a race like this?
Hell No!
