Mikey Monkey

Mikey Monkey went for a walk.
When he looked down, he saw a rock!
A Blue rock was laying in the sand,
So he picked it up in his left hand.

His friends called to him
As they sat on a limb,
“Mikey Monkey come and play
Mikey Monkey we have all day!
Climb up to the sun
Lets have some fun!
Swing in the trees
And feel the breeze”

“One, miney miney miney
Rock, miney miney miney
This Rock Is
Mine! Miney miney miney!”

As he walked he looked around,
A Red rock was what he found.
He thought to himself, “On my left foot
Is where this rock, I will put!”

His friends called to him
As they went for a swim,
“Mikey Monkey come and play
Mikey Monkey we have today!
Splash in the sun
Lets have some fun!
Dive in the pool
It will feel so cool!”

“One, miney miney miney
Two, miney miney miney
These Rocks Are
Mine! Miney miney miney!”

Mikey Monkey growled to drown
Out his friends, as more rocks he found
“This green rock will fit
On my tail where I sit!”

His friends once more called
Then shook their heads appalled,
“Mikey Monkey come and play
Mikey Monkey we only have today!
You can’t play when you’re all full
Of rocks, you’re so very dull!
You’re wasting your life
So stingy with strife!”

“One, miney miney miney
Two, miney miney miney
Three Rocks Are
Mine! Miney miney miney!”

Next, a yellow rock he could see
“My right foot is still free!”
And then he began to limp
In circles, the silly Chimp!

His friends called down
As they saw Mikey frown,
“Mikey Monkey come and play
Mikey Monkey we DON’T have all day!
Climb up to the sun
Lets have some fun!
Swing in the trees
And feel the breeze”

“One, miney miney miney
Two, miney miney miney
Three, miney miney miney
Four, miney miney miney
Still room for
Five, miney miney miney”

Mikey reached down in the sand
For a purple rock with his left hand
Just then, all rocks started to fall
And he sat down and began to bawl

His friends ran down to help
Trying to shush Mikey’s yelp,
“Mikey Monkey you’re quite the sight!
Mikey Monkey, its almost night!
With all these rocks, we can make
A rock garden, for goodness sake
Then you can play
What do you say?”

And with his friend’s aid
A garden, they made
Then, after a while
He started to smile!

“One, smiley smiley smiley
Two, smiley smiley smiley
Three Four Five
ALL friends are smiley smiley smiley”

Then Mikey Monkey began to climb
While they still had a little time,
He finally started to play
For the last part of the day
He climbed up to the sun
And had some fun
As he swung in the trees
And felt the breeze…

Until he looked down
And saw a flower
It was a pink flower
Growing up from the ground!

And as one,
his friends all groaned
“Ohhhhhhhhhhh
Nooooooooooo!”
